BGCCF Welcomes Sean Connolly as New Board Chair
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) is proud to announce the appointment of Sean Connolly as Chair of its Board of Directors. A respected financial executive and passionate advocate for youth, Connolly brings a unique blend of professional expertise and community commitment to this vital leadership role.
With more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Connolly served as Managing Director at Merrill Lynch from 2003 to 2023. He currently holds the same title at Rockefeller Capital Management, where he continues to lead with integrity and purpose.
“We are incredibly grateful that Sean will be stepping into the role of Board Chair,” said Jamie Merrill, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. “Sean brings a wealth of business knowledge and a true passion for serving youth and teens. I look forward to working alongside him to expand our impact on families across Central Florida.”
As Board Chair, Connolly will help guide BGCCF’s strategic direction, deepen its reach, and ensure the organization continues delivering high-quality youth development programs across the region.
“As the new Chairman of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, I am deeply honored to follow in the footsteps of the remarkable leaders who have come before me,” Connolly said. “Their dedication and vision have paved the way for countless young lives to be transformed. I am committed to continuing this legacy — ensuring that every child has the opportunity to realize their full potential and achieve a great future.”
This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time, as BGCCF continues to expand its services to more than 13,000 children and teens annually across Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, and Lake counties. With Connolly at the helm, the organization is poised to build on its 75-year legacy of creating safe, supportive spaces for youth to learn, grow, and lead.
