Logan’s Story: A Place to Learn, Grow, and Belong
At the new June Family Branch in Winter Garden, young people have a safe, welcoming place to belong, build confidence, discover their potential, and prepare for their futures.
For 12-year-old Logan B., his Club is all of that — and more.
Logan, a seventh grader and Club member, recently shared what the Club has meant to him with community supporters at the Club’s Grand Opening and how the support of caring staff, meaningful programs, and new opportunities has helped him grow.
Here is Logan’s story, in his own words:
“My name is Logan Brunson. I am 12 years old and in the 7th grade.
The Boys & Girls Club is a fun, welcoming, and safe place where kids can be themselves, make friends, learn new things, and create great memories. At the Club, we can play games, participate in activities, work on homework, and take part in different programs that help us grow.
The Boys & Girls Club has helped me believe in myself and become more confident. It has also helped me become a better athlete, a better person, and a smarter young man. The staff and the Club have encouraged me to keep working hard, believe in myself, and never give up.
I am grateful for the Boys & Girls Club because it has given me opportunities to learn, grow, make friends, and become the best version of myself.
The Boys & Girls Club is more than just a place to go after school. It is a place where great futures are started.”
Help More Winter Garden Youth Build GREAT Futures
Logan’s story is one example of what becomes possible when young people have a safe place to belong, caring adults who believe in them, and opportunities to learn, grow, and discover who they can become.
With the opening of the new June Family Branch, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida can reach hundreds more youth and teens throughout the Winter Garden community. Continued support will help us sustain what we have built and ensure young people like Logan have access to the people, programs, and experiences they need to thrive.
Support youth and teens in Winter Garden and help the next generation build GREAT futures.
